This isn’t your typical handwriting practice! This camp uses occupational
therapy principles incorporating a whole-body learning approach, motivating games, and
peer-play activities to target writing and reading skills. Using a fun and motivating topic,
we will actively engage each camper in fine motor, visual perceptual, and writing tasks to
support their growth and success in the classroom.

This camp is specifically for children
who present with difficulty with grade level reading and writing skills. Dyslexia and
dysgraphia campers are welcome. Price includes provided workbook materials.

Sign up for cheerleading camp with Cheer Works today! Our camps are open to K-5th graders and the kids are put into small groups with their peers. Professionals with Shining Stars Charleston will instruct a dramatic play program for the youth. Campers will learn how to tap into their emotions, move around the stage, and project their voices to become various characters in plays. They will also learn the importance of active listening for appropriate reactions and pantomimes on stage. They make their own props for the end of the week live show. Family and friends are invited to the student starred play on the last day.

This camp is instructed by local teachers Amanda Brock and Olga Kraft. Each day participants will work on a different art project and explore a new scientific concept through fun experiments. Children will create painted t-shirts, nature prints, marshmallow catapults, slime and more! Children should bring a snack and a water bottle and wear comfortable shoes for walking and playing.

Working as a team, campers will build lego sets, wile participating in builds and challenges. We will also create and have the opportunity to motorize our projects using imagination and basic engineering skills and basic robotics. Camp runs Monday- Thursday in the large conference room of the Daniel Island Recreation Center.
